Just a heads up to the IT Community here on campus: Microsoft released a series of security updates on Nov 1st (most of our users installed them yesterday and today). There is a bad one hidden amongst the bunch that seems to ONLY affect Office 2016 32-bit. The issue in question is that all Office programs will simply not open. Instead, you?ll get a lovely error message that says ?*Microsoft Program* is attempting to recover your information. This may take several minutes.? The program will then crash out. CANR Technology Services has identified the update as KB3118340. Uninstalling this update and rebooting appears to have resolved the issue.
