PDW

LEVERAGING ASIA, TO INFORM THE WORLD

ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT ANNUAL MEETING 2016

Saturday, August 6 11:15AM – 1:15PM

Hilton Anaheim, Palisades

Sponsors: AAM, IM, BPS, INDAM

The purpose of this PDW is to highlight the enormous research possibilities offered by the unique geographical contexts of Asia, to develop new knowledge that has relevance for audiences all over the world. As scholars of management, context and phenomena are important to us. It is often argued that the Twenty-first century belongs to Asia and special focus is needed on the phenomena in Asian countries because they are interesting, important and have the potential to significantly question and/or change some of the management theories that have been primarily developed in entirely different contexts.  This PDW aims to highlight how the Asian context can be used to conduct theoretically novel and managerially relevant research. Scholars in the panel will share their research using the context of different Asian countries such as Japan, China, India, Korea, Russia and so on and also highlight some future research possibilities.
