Subject: SPREAD THE WORD - Webinar on NSF Funding Opportunities - Broadening Participation in STEM, July 28, 12:30-2:30p ET
Importance: High
Greetings EHR,
We hope this message finds you well.
This is a reminder to help
SPREAD THE WORD.
NSF Funding Opportunities: Broadening Participation in STEM Webinar
Thursday, July 28
12:30 – 2:30 pm
Program Officers from all four EHR Divisions will be
highlighting upcoming funding opportunities within EHR, especially programs with a strong broadening participation emphasis.
The webinar is in response to POs expressed interest in:
·
Creating a mechanism to better reach and share the vast array of funding opportunities available across EHR to potential PIs and Institutions, especially
at institutions (formal, informal) that serve diverse students and communities, particularly those from underrepresented groups in STEM (i.e., women, racial/ethnic minorities, individuals with disabilities, rural areas, first generation students, etc.)
·
Supporting potential PIs and institutions that may lack the support, resources, and opportunities to attend conferences, meetings, and other forums where
POs regularly conduct outreach
·
Expanding and diversifying the pool of potential proposal reviewers for EHR programs, especially for programs with an expressed goal to broaden participation
in STEM
·
Attracting and recruiting more diverse program officers
This webinar is open to anyone and any institution that would like to attend. The aim, however, is to provide outreach to individuals and
institutions that will help to address the broadening participation interests noted above. Therefore, applicable networks and institutions should be especially encouraged to attend. The registration information is below.
Please send the announcement below and or attachment to potential PIs, reviewers, and your networks more broadly.
The STEM Learning and Research Center will host the webinar on our behalf.
We appreciate your assistance with this coordinated EHR broadening participation endeavor.
Thank you in advance.
