CALL FOR CONFERENCE PAPERS

We cordially invite submissions of individual papers and panels of papers for the 7th International CSR-Conference.

Submission deadline: May 31, 2016

Although the theme of the conference is “CSR in an Age of Digitization” we invite submissions that contribute to advanced knowledge creation in the diverse area of CSR from a scientific, practical and/or political point of view. We encourage submissions from sociologists, psychologists, philosophers, political scientists, legal scholars, economists, management scholars and others who want to bring the logic and empirical techniques of their science to bear on issues of CSR.

As with past conferences we will also be providing authors with an opportunity to submit their work to a special issue related to the theme of the conference.  This year the outlet will be Annals in Social Responsibility, co-edited by Timothy Devinney & Marc Orlitzsky.  More information about the special issue submission details will be given closer to the conference date. Papers not aligned with the conference theme can also be submitted to the journal via the normal submission process.

Submission Process

Please submit a one-page proposal for each paper and add three keywords reflecting the topic of the paper (having a full paper is not a condition of either acceptance of a proposal or for presentation at the conference). Accepted proposals will be assigned to parallel sessions by the Program Committee. We also encourage panel proposals comprising multiple papers or a panel of discussants with distinctive expertise who will debate a common theme.

Submissions have to be send to:

submission@csrhuberlin.org

Preceding the 7th International CSR Conference at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

In collaboration with the HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration

The doctoral workshop took place for the first time in 2010 and it attracted more than 50 participants from various national backgrounds.

The doctoral workshop will particularly address interdisciplinary research in the fields of sustainability and CSR in a globalized context. We are inviting PhD candidates from social sciences, law, business sciences and economics as well as from natural sciences and engineering to engage in a dialogue on solutions for global challenges of sustainability and CSR.

Proposals should investigate subjects representing cutting edge fields of research. Particularly appreciated will be projects which incorporate cooperation with non-academic actors or institutions from the business or the civil society sector as well as the political sphere.

The workshop offers PhD candidates a unique possibility to present and discuss their research projects in an inspiring academic community of both fellow PhD students and experienced researchers. A friendly and supportive atmosphere will allow students to improve their academic skills and abilities as well as to connect with international PhD colleagues and faculty members.

An additional highlight of the workshop will be a session on publishing strategies, held by Timothy Devinney, former chair of the International Management Division of the Academy of Management, past co-editor of Academy of Management Perspectives, and co-editor of Advances in International Management and Annals in Social Responsibility
