Professor, Business and Management Studies, SAS
The Department of Business and Management Studies, School of
Arts and Sciences invites applicants for the position of Professor in
Business and Management Studies, specialized in Marketing and related
field.
General Responsibilities:
- The purpose for this post is to prepare students to lead
and manage organizations, institutions, and teams by gaining academic
and practical knowledge, skills, and tools.
- The primary position will be as a Professor along with any
such duties as directed by the Director of Graduate Programs and the
Chair of the Department.
- The appointee will teach both undergraduate and graduate
level courses. Specifically, the MBA programme is taught in an online
and Residency environment, while the undergraduate is face to face.
- Contribute to research and management development
activities in the areas of Marketing, Project Management and related
areas within the Department of Business and Management Studies.
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Marketing,
Project Management and related management topics as directed by Chair of
the Department.
- Perform scholarly research, publishing in peer-reviewed
journals, books, and/or other works including attending
discipline-related conferences and the like.
- Supervise/co-supervise graduate research students in the appointee's areas of expertise.
- Serve on the Faculty Senate(s) and appropriate committees and subcommittees within the School of Arts and Sciences.
- Serve as an academic advisor to graduate and undergraduate students.
- Serve as a professional mentor for leadership and management skills development and final projects with students.
- Be actively engaged in faculty, as well as, MBA Team Meetings.
- Participate in Residency courses within the MBA
Multi-Sector Health Management and International Business Programs, as
requested by the Director and the Chair of the Department.
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by the Chair or the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.
- MBA teaching involves reporting through the Director of MBA Programs to the Chair of the Department.
Detailed Teaching Responsibilities
- Complete online/learning training and coaching development program before instructing in the MBA programme.
- Develop knowledge and skills in learner-centered teaching and online learning on an ongoing basis.
- Contribute to the Department's undergraduate and graduate programs (including supervision of MBA Project Labs);
- In consultation with the Chair of the Department, review
and update current course curriculum and/or develop new course
curriculum
- Prepare class materials for instruction purposes and managing the online learning environment.
- Deliver engaging learning.
- Hold weekly office hours.
- Communicate with students via email and phone, as needed.
- Deliver online, Residency, or face to face classes for the respective courses in the MBA program.
- Grade assignments on a timely basis.
- Mentor students, as appropriate, and provide mentoring to
named undergraduate and graduate students to encourage their development
as leaders and managers throughout their program experience.
- Communicate with the Director of Graduate Programs for any
requirements, issues, questions and class/course feedback regarding the
MBA program.
Knowledge and Experience
- PhD in Management, International Business, and/or
Entrepreneurial Studies, with an emphasis on Marketing and/or Project
Management.
- MBA or equivalent Masters-level Degree in a related discipline will be an advantage.
- High level executive experience in medium to large organizations and entrepreneurial ventures will also be an advantage.
- International business experience.
- A minimum of 3 years teaching experience at MBA/Masters or higher level
- Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track
record in marketing, general management, entrepreneurship, project
management, and/or international business
- Strong research background in relevant area that meets AACSB requirements
- Access to internet with audio and video computer capability (requirements will be provided)
Contract and terms
The contract will be offered by St. Georges University on an
annual basis. The salary range is competitive and commensurate with
qualifications.

research and conduct a short online class to departmental faculty and
staff.
