I am leading a search committee for a Field Crop Agronomist/Agroecologist position that is available here in the Plant Sciences Department, University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, Knoxville. We are seeking applicants interested in this 12 month (75% Extension/ 25% Research) tenure-track assistant professor position.

•  The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate small plot, replicated trials evaluating commercially available and experimental corn and soybean cultivars on UT AgResearch and Education Centers, and to assemble and publish trial results annually; and

•  The research goal of the position is to develop agricultural systems that are productive, economically viable, and resource conserving, but specific focus areas will depend on the interest level and background of the individual.

Attached, please find a copy of the position announcement that the committee hopes you will forward to individuals who you know may be interested in applying.

I’ve e-mailed Dawn Seigel, our departmental search committee assistant and primary initial contact a copy of this correspondence. Thank you for your help!

Sincerely,

Tom Samples
