Faculty Development in International Business: Globalization Workshops

 

An Offering of the National CIBER Network – hosted by Georgia State University’s Center for International Business Education and Research

in Atlanta, GA on June 2-5, 2016

 

 Update your knowledge, classroom skills, and pedagogical toolbox for teaching International Business!

 

CIBER (Centers of Excellence designated by the U.S. Department of Education) Globalization Workshops have trained over 1,000 faculty from the U.S. and other countries through this event. The workshops are designed to assist business faculty improve their practical knowledge and skills for teaching international business. Workshops leaders address: (i) contemporary content, (ii) pedagogy, and (iii) resources for teaching international business.

 

This year’s event will feature a Poster Session where some participants will share their innovative classroom teaching practices with others. Top three poster selections will be recognized with a monetary award.

 

Also new this year are three plenary sessions:

·    Insights from Master Teachers (featuring seasoned IB educators)

·    Designing and Teaching the Introductory IB Course

·    Instructional Technology and Resources for Teaching International Business

 

Thematic workshops include:

·    Introduction to International Business

·    International Management

·    International Financial Management

·    Global Supply Chain Management

·    International Marketing

Participants also have the opportunity to attend four ‘bonus’ sessions:

·    Research in International Business

·    Teaching Pedagogy

·    Case Writing for International Business

·    Cross-national Perspectives
