The International Journal of Export Marketing (IJEXPORTM) offers to PhD students of International Business an award of 750 euros for the best paper in 2016 published in the journal.

a) A special issue on International Marketing Management Strategies of firms at

Professor Jorma Larimo and Dr Dafnis Coudounaris both from the University of Vaasa, Finland 

a) Content for 1st special issue: 
The rapidly changing environment and technologies, the unlimited access to information and global competition are a source of new challenges for international firms operating in different markets. Therefore, there is a need to look at firms of any size, their internationalisation pathways and their international marketing strategies i.e. standardization versus adaptation, market selection strategy and overseas distributor relations. Also other areas related to international marketing management strategies of firms (i.e. on SMEs) are encouraged to be submitted. 

b) Content of 2nd special issue: 
Uncertainty and risk in foreign markets create the need for top management to look for new ways for achieving competitive advantage i.e. through international advertising and branding. The latter issue can also include other types of articles related to international advertising like critical literature reviews, analysis of the use of cultural values in international advertising, applications of Hofstede, Schwartz and/or GLOBE frameworks in the international advertising, social media in international marketing etc. 

Both special issues welcome all type of studies – quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods as well as meta-analysis/critical review papers, empirical studies and case studies. 

Notes for Prospective Authors 

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper has been completely re-written and if appropriate written permissions have been obtained from any copyright holders of the original paper).Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. The length of each paper should be 5000-7000 words excluding tables, figures and appendices and fonts should be 12, Times New Roman. 

All papers are refereed through a peer review process. 

All papers must be submitted online. To submit a paper, please read our Submitting articles page. 

Important Dates 

a) 1st Special Issue: 

Submission of manuscripts: October 31st, 2015 

Notification to authors: December 31st, 2015 

Final versions due: January 31st, 2016 

b) 2nd Special Issue: 

Submission of manuscripts: November 30th, 2015 

Notification to authors: January 31st, 2016 

Final versions due: February 28th, 2016 

Those interested in submitting papers to the special issues are encouraged to participate and present their papers or paper plans at the 13th Vaasa IB conference August 26-28, 2015. There will be special sessions around both topic areas. (
