Dear Colleagues,

As a friendly reminder, the University of Miami CIBER, thanks to the support from a grant of the US Department of Education and the Office of SBA's Vice Dean for Faculty, is offering competitive faculty scholarship awards for Minority Serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and Community Colleges covering partial registration fees for the 2016 Faculty Development in International Business (FDIB)-Latin American Pacific Alliance Program, to be held from June 12-24th.  This program focuses on the business opportunities and challenges of Peru and Colombia, two of Latin America's fastest growing economies.  Participants will discuss each country's social and economic processes with public, private and academic leaders; visit companies in the agribusiness, financial, healthcare and resource management sectors among others; explore unique cultural and tourist sites; and meet with faculty from leading Universities.

Competitive award applications  (a one-page detailed summary) are due no later than 9:00am April 14th to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. Please include the amount of funding requested (awards will range between $500-$2,500)

One-page detailed summary must describe the following:

1.    How will the knowledge acquired during the trip enhance your teaching and/or proposed new courses?

2.    How will the understanding of region gained during the trip expand your research?

3.    What new research projects may come to fruition based on the contacts established during the trip?

Program Fee: $4,500

Program fee includes the following:

*         Domestic airfare

*         Ground transportation

*         4/5 star hotel accommodations

*         Some meals

*         Business and cultural visits

*         Bilingual tour guide

Program fee does NOT include the following:

*         International airfare

*         Visa fees

*         Individual travel insurance

*         Some meals

*         Gratuities to Guides/Drivers

*         Personal expenses
