Symbiosis International University Symbiosis International University is nestled on a beautiful 300 acre campus, the Symbiosis Knowledge Village, on the outskirts of the city of Pune in Maharashtra, India. The University's name fittingly captures the quintessence of the relationship that the founder, Padma Bhushan Dr. S.B. Mujumdar had envisioned; a mutually beneficial bond between students from India and the International student community. Padma Bhushan Dr. S.B. Mujumdar established Symbiosis on the principles of Vedic thought of "World as One Family" - a philosophy that does not believe in constraining national boundaries. The University has MOU's of collaboration with several renowned universities of the world and encourages students & faculty to participate in its programmes. Symbiosis International University is established under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act and has been re-accredited by NAAC with Grade 'A' and CGPA of 3.58 on a four point scale. The higher education scene in India is undergoing changes responding to the needs of a globalized economy. In an attempt to align itself to this changing environment, SIU has established institutes across the 7 Faculties namely Law, Management, Computer Studies, Health & Bio-medical Sciences, Media, Communication & Design, Humanities & Social Sciences and Engineering. Among other initiatives, the University is now keen to enhance the diversity quotient in faculty with effect from the academic year 2016-17. Towards this end, Symbiosis International University invites applications from faculty who would bring to the table their rich experience in the teaching-learning process and research. The nature of engagement and the duration could be mutually agreed upon but should be for a minimum period of three months in an academic year at any one or more institutes.
