The School of Labor and Employment Relations at The Pennsylvania State
University invites applications for the position of Post-Doctoral Scholar
with the Center for International Human Resource Studies. This is a
ten-month position that begins on August 15, 2016 that may be renewed for
a further ten months during the 2017/18 academic year. The Center for
International Human Resource Studies was established in 2013 and aims to
encourage international human resource management scholarly research, and
to serve the International HR practitioner community. Through targeted
events, we are developing a strong community of academics and
practitioners passionate about international HRM, enabling the sharing of
ideas to advance knowledge and practice in the field.

For the Post-Doctoral Scholar position, CIHRS is particularly interested
in candidates with research and teaching interests in the broad field of
international human resource management, preferably spanning both
comparative HRM and the HRM-related activities of multinational
corporations. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. earned in the last three
years. The degree should be in a relevant discipline and applicants should
show evidence of an emerging research program relevant to CIHRS'
interests.

Scholars will receive salary, benefits, and a research/travel fund to
support their work. Postdoctoral candidates will be expected to teach one
course each semester. Teaching obligations will include a course in one of
the existing School's residential or online programs, and will ideally
have prior teaching experience. Other anticipated duties include building
relationships with practitioners, involvement with on-going research
studies, developing research funding proposals for CIHRS, and being
involved in CIHRS conference and workshop activities. Candidates are also
expected to actively participate in School activities.

The School of Labor and Employment Relations is a multidisciplinary
department with a large undergraduate program, a strong residential
Masters of Science in Human Resources and Employment Relations (HRER), and
a fully-online Masters of Professional Studies in HRER. The School has
existing strengths in human resources, workers' rights, labor relations,
and international and comparative human resources and employment
relations. Submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, and a
writing sample. Please also arrange to have three letters of
recommendation sent directly by letter writers to Lisa Pierson,
