Any really old storage drives you've been saving for just such a moment? Thanks. Don Bosman Information Technologist MSU Libraries 366 W. Circle Drive - Rm.W441 East Lansing, MI 48824-1048 517-884-0873 From: Edge, Ryan Sent: Monday, February 08, 2016 8:18 AM To: LibraryStaff <[log in to unmask]> Subject: SyQuest and Magneto-optical disk drives Hi All, We have a number of antiquated digital storage media in Special Collections. The priority disk formats targeted for content migration/recovery are a few dozen 5.25" SyQuest cartridges<http://www.obsoletemedia.org/syquest-5-25-inch/> (88MB, 200MB) and 3.5" magneto-optical (MO) cartridges<http://www.obsoletemedia.org/3-5-inch-magneto-optical-disc/> (650MB, 1.3GB). Why I'm bothering you with this: before wading into the online gray market to acquire the appropriate drives (drive models are compatible with only certain disk capacities), I thought I'd put a call out to the collective. A long shot, I know, but sometimes people get lucky-or so I hear. If you could also pass this along or can recommend someone to get in touch with, that would also be greatly appreciated.
