Who do we need for a sustainable food system? Everyone! Check out this campaign to help develop the logistical aspects of making food “waste” a valuable resource.

******

Zero Percent is a Chicago organization that is fighting the twin problems of food waste and food want with a technology-based platform that connects restaurants and other businesses that have surplus food with nonprofits that provide food assistance to people in need.

And Zero Percent has launched a crowdfunding campaign to address one of the program's biggest and most expensive problems — the costs and logistical difficulties of picking up and delivering perishable food in an efficient and timely manner. To publicize this, the organization this week is staging Chicago Restaurant Giving Week, in which participating restaurants are providing food vouchers to people who contribute $5 or more on the foodrescue.io <http://foodrescue.io/> website.
