Dear Colleague, I hope this mail finds you well and that you’re having a good start to 2016. This is to gently remind you that the deadline for submission of papers to the 43rd AIB-UKI annual conference to be held in London, April 7-9, 2016 is just over 2 weeks away, i.e. January 31, 2016. This deadline applies to both the main conference and the doctoral colloquium. The AIB UK&I annual conference brings together a dynamic, high profile group of eminent scholars, mid and early career researchers, doctoral students and members of the wider international business community for a stimulating exchange of knowledge and networking in an intimate, friendly and supportive atmosphere. The theme of this year’s conference is “International Business in a multi-speed global economy”, and the following distinguished keynote speakers have kindly agreed to deliver plenary remarks: • Professor Pankaj Ghemawat, the Global Professor of Management and Strategy at Stern, NYU and the Anselmo Rubiralta Professor of Global Strategy at IESE; • Professor Julian Birkinshaw, Chair of Strategy and Entrepreneurship and Academic Director of the Deloitte Institute at the LBS; • Robert Whyte, Lead Investment Promotion Specialist with the World Bank Group; • Jean-Francois (JF) Ruhashyankiko, Senior Africa Economist and Executive Director at Goldman Sachs. As in previous years, the conference will encompass all aspects of international business, not only around the theme of the conference. Papers are invited in all major areas of international business and related fields. There will be a number of prestigious conference prizes, including the John Dunning Lifetime Achievement Award, Palgrave Macmillan Best Paper Award, Michael Z Brooke Doctoral Prize and the Neil Hood & Stephen Young Doctoral Prize. Publication opportunities exist in the form of the Palgrave Macmillan International Business Book Series, a special issue of International Marketing Review, and another special issue for which a confirmation is awaited. The main plenary sessions will be held at the Beveridge Hall within the Senate House of the University of London, the same venue where Winston Churchill was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate degree in 1948. The deservedly famous AIB UK&I Doctoral Colloquium will also provide doctoral students with in-depth feedback on their work as well as access to leading IB scholars. The Conference’s social programme includes Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner. The latter will be held at the Edward Lumley Hall, Royal College of Surgeons, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London.
