Don't Miss the 2016 CSA Fair!

Meet local farmers and learn how you and your family can start receiving best-in-season vegetables and other farm favorites. Enjoy live music, tasty treats from concession vendors, brews from Sleepwalker Spirits and Ales. Enter for a chance to win a locavore-centric goodie basket!

Are you a CSA newbie, long-time CSA champion, or a gardener who wants to supplement your harvest?  At the CSA Fair you will learn more about classic and non-traditional options such as CSA Starter Boxes, Full Shares, Bi-Weekly Boxes, and ‘Add-On’ items such as bread, cheese, eggs, and locally roasted coffee.

There are many amazing local opportunities to learn farming and gardening tips and tricks! MSU Extension and Allen Neighborhood Center's Allen Market Place and Hunter Park Greenhouse are holding a wide variety of sessions for the rest of the winter and into spring. Urbandale Farm Apprenticeship Program

Looking for an opportunity to learn how to start an urban farm, grow fresh produce, and gain marketing experience? The Lansing Urban Farm Project (LUFP) at Urbandale Farm is now accepting applications for the 2016 growing season. Join us for an Information Session on Thursday, January 21 at 7:30pm or Monday, February 2 at 6:30pm at the Allen Market Place Conference Room, 1629 E. Kalamazoo St. (enter on the north side of the complex). To RSVP or for more information, call (517) 999-3916 or email Cait.

Volunteer Opportunities

Seeding sorting and inventorying continues!  We are more than ½ way through now thanks to some dedicated volunteers.  The following volunteer opportunities are available over the next two weeks.
 
Wednesday, January 27th: 10:00-12:00
Thursday, January 28:  5:00-7:00
Friday, January 29:  2:00-4:00
Monday, February 1: 1:30-3:30
Tuesday, February 2: 3:00-5:00
Thursday, February 4: 5:00-7:00
 
As in previous weeks, volunteering is at 919 Filley St, Lansing.  Please RSVP to [log in to unmask] if you can attend.  Thanks again to all who have helped.

Southside Community Kitchen is now serving meals according to the following schedule:

Monday and Wednesday  11:30 am - 12:15 pm
