The weird thing to me is that we've had several people today that have had issues sending email.  When we investigated, it turns out their outgoing port had been reset to 25.  (These were all outlook, varying versions of that.)  I honestly can't think of any way that any changes that MSU did over the weekend could have any effect on this setting, but it's weirdly coincidental that this has suddenly happened at the same time.

Those affected are likely people who have set their client to “leave messages on server”. When they “delete” messages, they are really just flagging them to be deleted. If their client isn’t set to or doesn’t work properly to purge those marked for deletion, they probably have been affected by this.
