Dear MSU students who are parents,
MSU Student Parents on a Mission (SPOM) is an MSU organization to support MSU 
students who are parents. Currently, SPOM is having the 2015 Holiday Gift Program “Wish 
List”, which gives gifts to all of your family member based on your request (Gift cards 
and gas cards are acceptable request!).  SPOM is also providing FREE Thanksgiving meals 
which include a whole big turkey and other foods for your family. 

Besides these programs, SPOM had many FREE, helpful and interesting events and 
activities for your family due to the support from MSU and other organizations and MSU 
alumni. So far this Fall semester, SPOM supported these activities (all family member got 
FREE ticket from SPOM if you are a member of SPOM):
1 - Shop With a Cop-Dec. 5, 2015- for kids aged 5-12 years:  each child will be given 
$100 to shop for whatever they want. Their police officer will shop with them. They can 
buy gifts for parents or siblings, pets, friends or themselves.
2 - August Family Fun Event at Aquatic center (free access to Aquatic center for all family 
members)
3 - School Supplies (free school supplies for your children)
4 -  Family Fun Event - Go to the Pumpkin Patch, pick up your own pumpkins (as many as 
you can carry), having hayride at Andy T's Farmers Market. (SPOM COVERED all the 
access fee for all family members).
5 - SPOM Fall Scholarship provides scholarships to support MSU students who are 
parents.
6 -  Fall Welcome event (FREE food for families).
7 - FREE TICKETS to Twyla Tharp 50th Anniversary Concert, at Wharton Center ( this is A 
once-in-a-lifetime chance): free tickets for all family members.
8 - FREE Wharton Center Events tickets for your family for  "Peking dreams" (by  National 
Circus and Acrobats of the People's Republic of China ) and "The Stinky Cheese Man" 
shows.
9 -  A lot of helpful information about other events for your families.
Those are some events that SPOM provided its members among many events supported 
by MSU. TO BECOME A MEMBER OF SPOM, you have to be MSU student, and submit an 
application with a member fee12$/semester or 20$/year (which is MUCH LESS than what 
you and your family will receive from SPOM). You can meet or email Laraine to submit

MSU Family Resource Center is across the Harrison road from Spartan Village. And SPOM 
is located on the second floor.
