One Full Time, Paid AmeriCorps Position at Greater Lansing Housing Coalition

The Power of We Consortium AmeriCorps State program is looking to fill one full time, paid position who will serve at the Greater Lansing Housing Coalition.

The Power of We Consortium AmeriCorps State program focuses on increasing food security and healthy eating habits to low-opportunity neighborhoods to reduce chronic disease in Lansing residents. The AmeriCorps program works closely with local non-profits, faith based and government organizations to place AmerCorps member who serve hands on with social justice issues,  food justice issues and community needs. The program is looking for a full time member to serve 1,700 hours between now and September 30, 2016 at the Greater Lansing Housing Coalition. Member will increase the consumption of healthy food and increase food security for all of GLHC’s residents in their five apartment complexes. The member will also coordinate with community members to teach them the importance of eating healthy foods and strategies to adopt better diets.This is a professional development opportunity for individuals seeking experience with National Service, preventative health, public health, food justice, and community driven programming.
