Call for Chapters

Proposals Submission Deadline: October 31, 2015
Full Chapters Due: March 31, 2016
Submission Date: July 31, 2016

Architecture is an art and science of designing buildings and the surrounding physical environment with an aesthetic creativity depending on social structure, social needs, economic data, and environment / technological development. From this point of view, artchitecture can be shaped by the culture of the societies, common beliefs, surrounding environments, construction materials, and technology. When we review the past, we can easily see there is always a strong relation between culture and architecure. This publication is primarily concerned with how culture and beliefs influence and shape architecture. From this viewpoint, different examples about architecture from different counties are provided so one can easily see that architecture is a common yet unique way of showing differences between cultures and their corresponding environments.

The primary objective of the proposed publication is that of Reference material for scholars and architect practitioners who need a holistic view of the field that is not normally found in publications on architecture. The secondary objective is to provide a foundation for other similar books on the subject. The book should be published because there are few reference / resource materials available on architecture that encompasses a variety of aspects such as cultural influences and technical issues related to the subject.

Target Audience

The primary intended audience is scholars who have the need for qualified Reference material regarding the subject matter of the proposed publication as outlined above. While having academic rigor, the book will be written in a way such that it can also be understood by non-academics and non-specialists who have the educational background to comprehend the importance of the proposed publication.
