The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics of the University of Passau invites applications for two 'Juniorprofessur' (Assistant Professor) posts for Business Administration with a focus on International Management to start at the beginning of the summer semester in April 2016.

Remuneration for these fixedterm civil service posts is in accordance with salary grade W 1 of the German civil service pay scale for professors.


Description of the role
The successful candidate will teach and conduct research in International Management.
The research focus of candidates should be in internationalization strategies and governance of
organizations and possibly associated fields, such as entrepreneurship, human resource management,
innovation, marketing, organizational behavior and strategy.

He or she will teach courses at the Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral levels, and will furthermore, be expected to
take an active role in shaping and co-ordinating the faculty's international exchange programmes.


In Bavaria, 'Juniorprofessor' posts (which roughly correspond to 'assistant professor') are civil service posts with a fixed term of three years in the first phase (in German: 'Beamter auf Zeit').
Once the incumbent has proven him or herself as a university teacher, the civil service post should be extended up to a maximum term of six years (as per art. 15 sec. 1 Bavarian Higher Education Employees Act, BayHSchPG).


Person specification
You have been educated to doctoral level and have demonstrated excellent teaching competence (as evidenced by your teaching evaluations), relevant teaching experience and academic excellence, as proven by the quality of your doctoral research.
Your work follows in the empirical tradition and has been published in relevant international journals. Ideally, you will have positioned yourself clearly in your academic discipline and are a keen contributor to a strong, international research network related to your research interests.
