The
Amsterdam
Business School (ABS) is
looking to fill positions at the assistant professor level
in International
Management/ Business in its international strategy & marketing
department. The
Amsterdam Business School offers undergraduate, graduate,
and executive
programs in accounting, finance, management, and marketing.
The International
Strategy & Marketing (ISM) department is home to around
30 faculty members
from different international backgrounds, in addition to PhD
candidates and
affiliated faculty. The section coordinates the teaching in
International
Management, Marketing and Strategy in the various programmes
of ABS and staff
members conduct internationally recognized research in these
fields.
ABS
researchers publish regularly in leading journals
in International
Business/Management (including Journal of International
Business Studies,
Journal of World Business, International Business Review,
International
Marketing Review) and in management and marketing more
broadly (e.g., Academy
of Management Review, Academy of Management Perspectives,
Journal of
Management, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of
Product Innovation
Management, International Journal of Research in
Marketing, Journal of
Retailing, Strategic Management Journal), as well as
more
managerially-oriented journals (e.g., California
Management Review, Harvard
Business Review). There is specific interest within
ISM and ABS in
corporate governance broadly defined and related issues
relevant to business
and society.
ABS
is part of the University of

Job
description
We
are looking for candidates who
take their teaching seriously and have published, or are
about to publish, in
top-tier international journals, and have an ongoing
research portfolio in
international management/business. We are particularly
interested in ambitious
team players who can help us further develop our department
and ABS more
generally.
Requirements
Candidates
need to have proven
ability to conduct high-quality international research and
to teach
international management. A PhD in international
management/business is a
further requirement. Candidates would ideally be able to
start in the summer of
2016 at the latest.

Appointment
The
appointee at the assistant
professor level will be offered a tenure track position for
six years. Upon
meeting the tenure track criteria, a permanent contract as
Associate Professor
will be offered. Salary will be in accordance with Dutch
academic salary scales
and include a pension scheme, and range between €3,324 to
€5,171 gross per
month, dependent on experience and track record of the
candidate. A substantial
reduction in income tax (equal to 30% of taxable salary) may
apply to non-Dutch
candidates.
