The Lansing Urban Farm Project/ Urbandale Farm on Lansing’s Eastside is putting out a RFP for a farmer or small group of farmers to take over their farming operation for at least the next 2-3 years.  The farmer will be given access to all Urbandale Farm’s existing improved  urban fields (about 2 acres total) and equipment (hoop house included).  An on-site farm house is available at a reduced rent after May 2016. The bulk of the income generated from farming will return to the farmer(s). In exchange, the farmer(s) will be required to raise produce using organic methods, teach the art of urban ag to three farm apprentices/ season, and integrate the farming operation into neighborhood life (and vice versa).  LUFP is very willing to entertain proposals that include expanded production strategies, new markets, and community-based programs. Applications are due 5:00 p.m. September 30, 2015.  Application guidelines are available at – https://lansingurbanfarmproject.wordpress.com/ .

An information session will be held at the farm (700 S. Hayford) on Tuesday, September 8th at 5:30 p.m.   Questions? Please leave a voice mail at 517-999-3916, or email at: Lansingurbanfarmproject@gmail.com.
