Dear Colleagues,

You are cordially invited to attend the UNSW Innovation Summit, "Strengthening Australian Innovation and Asia Capability for Global Competitiveness," to be held on September 18, 2015 at the Westin Hotel in Sydney, Australia.  The event is hosted by the Australian Innovation & Competitiveness Initiative (AICI) of the UNSW Business School at the University of New South Wales.
As global economic competition shifts from efficiency to innovation and the world's economic centre shifts from the West to Asia, what do countries with small populations like Australia need to do to compete successfully in the new world order?
The Summit will bring together over 200 innovators from business, industry, academia, and government to address the above question and jointly develop an action agenda to reinvent Australia for global competitiveness.  Participants will have opportunities to engage in Q&A with expert speakers and network both during and after the formal program.
Speakers include:  John Berry, US Ambassador to Australia; Prof Joe Cheng, Michael J. Crouch Chair in Innovation, UNSW Business School; Prof Ian Chubb, Australia’s Chief Scientist; Paul Field, Senior Investment Specialist, Austrade; Prof Kathy Eisenhardt, Co-Director of Stanford Technology Ventures Program, Stanford University; Nick Gurney, VP of Telecoms Asia-Pacific, IBM; Prof Jim Patrick, Chief Scientist at Cochlear; Dr Mirjana Rica, MD, Food Innovation Australia Ltd; Vanghn Richtor, CEO, ING DIRECT Australia; Robbert Rietbroek, CEO, Kimberly-Clark Australia; Sarah Vaughan, Director, Developer Experience & Evangelism, Microsoft Australia; and Prof Charles Snow, Penn State University, among others.
To attend, please visit www.business.unsw.edu.au/innovation2015 and register at a discount rate before August 18.
