International Business Pedagogy:

An Interactive Workshop on Teaching

International Business

2015 AIB-SE Conference, Savannah, GA

Thursday, November 12, 2015, 2:30-5:30 pm

Workshop Leader:

S. Tamer Cavusgil, Georgia State University

The practice of international business continues to evolve in the rapidly globalizing economy. For international business educators, the changing environment of cross-border business implies new and novel approaches to educating tomorrow's managers.  Among other things, business educators need to reflect new realities including growing importance of emerging markets and a prolonged recession.

Yet, our teaching has to be relevant, engaging, and innovative.  The millennials, the new generation of students, provide new challenges for the instructor. How can we share the excitement of international markets with our students? How can we best connect and communicate with them via such pedagogical approaches as: experiential exercises and projects; web-based learning; videos; and cases and exercises?

This interactive workshop will focus on: (a) “what” – content; (b) “how” -- pedagogy; and (c) “resources” – for teaching international business. Professor Cavusgil will share his experience and teaching tools that have been especially developed for IB educators.  The intent is also to engage participants in an interactive discussion designed to search for excellence in the teaching of international business.

This workshop is free, but seats will be limited. Please see the Call for Papers for more conference details: http://www.aibse.org/2015-annual-conference/call-for-papers/ Registration will open in July 2015.
