Postdoctoral Fellowship in Evidence-Based Teaching and Assessment
 
The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Center for Teaching and Faculty Development to perform research and assessment on evidence-based teaching practices. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, providing assessment and evaluation expertise to support faculty, postdocs, and graduate students in the development of evidence-based teaching practices; working with faculty to design assessment/evaluation plans for the learning/education/outreach component of grant proposals; serving as the project manager of the UMass CIRTL Program to help graduate students and postdocs explore and implement evidence-based teaching practices; working with the CIRTL faculty leaders to design and execute on-campus events, practica, and other programs; and teaching workshops or short courses on college teaching skills.
 
This is a benefited, full-time position. Initial appointment is for one year, renewable annually for up to three years subject to performance and availability of funding.                                                
 
Minimum qualifications: A doctoral degree in higher education, educational psychology, science education, or a related field; experience in educational assessment, evaluation, and/or research; experience in evidence-based teaching; college-level teaching experience; excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; strong working knowledge of statistics and proficiency with statistical software packages (i.e., SPSS, SAS) and qualitative research software (i.e., NVivo); experience contributing to collaborative research projects.
 
Preferred qualifications: Experience in postsecondary educational assessment, evaluation, and research; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, postdocs, and graduate students from a wide variety of disciplines; high level of proficiency with statistical software packages; and strong organizational and time management skills.
