FACULTY DEVELOPMENT IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS –

GLOBALIZATION WORKSHOPS


Offered by the CIBER Consortium - Atlanta, GA., June 4-7, 2015


Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) Consortium is pleased to announce the 2015 Faculty Development in International Business - Globalization Workshops, to be held June 4-7, 2015 at Georgia State University's Buckhead Center, a state-of-the-art conference facility located in Atlanta, Georgia.


Held since 1992 (in Memphis) by a consortium of CIBERs (Centers of Excellence designated by the U.S. Department of Education), Globalization Workshops have trained over 1,000 faculty from around the U.S. and other countries. The workshops are designed to help business faculty bring international context into the classroom and expand their classroom knowledge and skills. These two-day workshops, and respective faculty leaders, are:


·        Introduction to International Business ( Michael Pustay & Attila Yaprak)-

·        International Management (Ben Kedia & Leigh Anne Liu)

·        International Financial Management (Hakan Saraoglu)

·        Global Supply Chain Management (Tomas Hult & Ernie Nichols)

·        International Marketing (Erin Cavusgil & Seyda Deligonul)


Each of these workshops is taught by world-class educators in international business.  They incorporate content, pedagogy, and resources for teaching the respective courses. They are also designed to facilitate open dialogue among educators who share teaching interests.

In addition to these two-day workshops, participants have the opportunity to select from one or more of three-hour bonus sessions on:


·        Research in international business (Tamer Cavusgil & Seyda Deligonul)

·        Teaching pedagogy (Roberto Garcia & Mourad Dakhli)

·        Case writing for international business (Attila Yaprak)

·        Tools for Cultural Learning in Study Abroad-Cultural Analysis Toolkit (Deirdre Mendez)

The 2015 Faculty Development in International Business Globalization Workshops are a project of the a Minority Serving Institution (MSI) Consortium, hosted by GSU-CIBER and sponsored by CIBERs at Brigham Young University, George Washington University, Indiana University, Michigan State University, Temple University, Texas A&M University, University of Colorado-Denver, University of Maryland, University of Miami, and the University of Texas Austin.​
