Hello Eve, be careful when buying an used carseat. They are rated for a single crash and there's no way to verify whether a carseat has been in a car crash before. After a car crash, there might significant weakening of the plastics that might fail in a subsequent car crash. But if you find someone who is trustworthy, make sure it's rear-facing carseat (as they are required for infants), that it has not been recalled (check the model number online) and that it has never been on a car accident. Good luck and congratulations on your new baby.
