Position Announcement

Dean, Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University

SFU is a leading comprehensive university with vibrant campuses in British
Columbia’s largest municipalities (Vancouver, Burnaby, and Surrey), and
deep roots in partner communities throughout the province and around the
world. Its vision is to be Canada’s leading engaged university. Since the
creation of Canada’s first Executive MBA in 1968, Simon Fraser University’s
Beedie School of Business has emerged as a dynamic teaching and learning
setting, and today enjoys a reputation for producing global-class research
for the knowledge economy. Undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. programs
demonstrate a spirit of innovation, flexibility and relevance. Supported by
extensive partnerships with public, private and not-for-profit
organizations, the School’s goal is to produce broadly educated,
enterprising and socially responsible managers capable of making lasting
contributions to their communities. The School operates on all three SFU
campuses, and enrolls over 3,800 undergraduate and over 250 MBA and
graduate students. Drawing upon past administrative successes and known to
be an inspiring leader with a clear and persuasive vision, the new Dean
will forge a strong sense of cohesion within the Beedie School and promote
links within SFU and with external partners. The new Dean will be a
collaborative leader with a demonstrated commitment to students, research,
and community engagement. This is an exciting opportunity for an academic
leader whose passion, creativity and strategic skills will lead the Faculty
to its next level, nationally and internationally.
