The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the College of Business. The College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is home to nearly 3,000 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate students in MBA, master’s and doctoral programs. Internationally recognized as a leading business school, the College of Business has outstanding programs in accountancy, finance, and business administration. Consistently ranked as one of the top public universities in the nation by US News & World Report,Forbes, and Bloomberg BusinessWeek, the University of Illinois is also a leader in business education and research. The College of Business is the #1 source of CFOs to Fortune 500 and S&P 500 firms (Crist | Kolder Associates, 2014), and Illinois undergrads receive more venture funding for startups than any college in the state, ranking 12th worldwide (PitchBook, 2014).
 
As the chief academic and executive officer of the College, the Dean will be responsible for the global reputation of the College and its programs. The Dean will provide leadership for building key partnerships and collaborations with internal and external constituencies, including the global business community. The Dean will enhance the diversity of faculty, staff, and students. S/he will have primary responsibility for faculty and staff development, budgetary oversight and planning, academic and curricular issues, fundraising, and facilities. 
 
The ideal candidate will be an outstanding leader capable of bridging the academic and business communities that a top business school spans.  The new dean will have a track record of high achievement as a leader including a demonstrated commitment to research, teaching, outreach, and equal opportunity; the ability to attract and retain a diverse and superior faculty, student body, and staff; and, the appetite and aptitude to generate resources for the College. Candidates will likely hold a Ph.D. and have a strong record of scholarship, research and teaching commensurate with an appointment at the rank of tenured full professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The search committee welcomes nominations of outstanding leaders with other backgrounds as well. 
 
The position of Dean of the College of Business reports to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost and is a senior administrative position with a seat on the Council of Deans. This full-time, 12-month appointment has a negotiable start date with salary commensurate with experience.
