HI Anne and others interested.  Might I suggest a paper by Douglas Allchin  - Evaluating the Knowledge of Whole Science

as a much better approach to looking at what nature of science is (ontologically and epistemologically) and how to teach it, than what has been, say, all the rage as many current instruments , such as the VNOS...

I am willing to discuss my views and experiences with those interested.
