*Amitabha Chanting Retreat - "Passing on the Lamp of Wisdom": Gratitude for
the Teachings of Master Sheng Yen*

Dear Friends,

Dharma Drum Mountain - Michigan Chapter, and Lansing Buddhist Association
are holding a commemorative event in honor of the late teacher, Venerable
Master Sheng Yen, a renowned Buddhist Ch'an Master on Saturday, 2/14, from
10AM - 1 PM at Amitabha Village Retreat Center.
Program includes:

- Amitabha chanting, walking meditation, and prostration.
- Watching DVD of Master Sheng Yen and Dharma Drum Mountain
- Enjoying vegetarian lunch (celebration of Chinese New Year)

Event is free and opens to all.

The late Venerable Sheng-yen taught Buddhism in the West for over thirty
years.
His footprints have spread all across the United States, in various
provinces in China,
as well as Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Japan, Malaysia, Russia,
the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Italy, the Czech Republic,
Croatia, Argentina, Costa Rica, Brazil, and other countries.
In 2000, he was one of the keynote speakers in the Millennium Religious
Summit
held in the United Nations.

He wrote more than seventy books in Chinese and more than a dozen books in
English.
Many of his books have been translated into Italian, Japanese, Portuguese,
Finnish, German, French, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, Russian, Vietnamese,
and Indonesian, among other languages.
