KBS LTER Grad Fellowships for 2015
Full Year (PhD) and Summer (MSc or Phd) MSU Fellowships for 2015

KBS LTER Full Year Fellowships

The KBS LTER Graduate Fellowship provides stipend support ($30,000) plus tuition and fees for one year beginning each May (3 credits for each of Fall and Spring semesters, 1 credit summer semester). Additional funds (up to $5,000) are available for travel and meeting expenses or additional credits. The fellowship is open to current MSU PhD candidates interested in or currently conducting research in association with the KBS LTER Program (lter.kbs.msu.edu). Residency at KBS is not required, nor is pre-existing engagement in KBS LTER research. Applicants must have passed their comprehensive exam prior to the application deadline.

Applications are due February 6, 2015. To apply, send Dr. Jane Schuette <[log in to unmask]> a single pdf file containing: (1) a cover letter describing your interest in the fellowship and how it relates to LTER goals; (2) a 2-page proposal (with descriptive title) describing your LTER-related research and a budget for any additional funds (up to $5,000); and (3) a curriculum vita including contact information for three references including your degree advisor. Decisions are expected to be announced by March 6, 2015.

 
KBS LTER Summer Fellowships

Two KBS LTER Summer Research Fellowships will each provide up to $6,250 of support to offset tuition and fees during Summer 2015, with the balance provided as a stipend. These non-renewable fellowships will support MSc or PhD students interested in or currently conducting research in association with the KBS LTER Program (lter.kbs.msu.edu). Additional funds (up to $500) may be requested for travel, meetings, or other research-related expenses. Applicants must be graduate students currently enrolled at MSU. Candidacy is not required, nor is KBS residency or pre-existing engagement in KBS LTER research.
