Subject: FINAL REMINDER! -- Food Hub Webinar TODAY 1pm EST -- "Scaling up!"

This is the final reminder for the webinar titled, “Scaling up! Benchmarking for Success” presented by Jessica Smith of This Old Farm<http://www.thisoldfarminc.com/>, TODAY (Monday, December 15th, 2014), from 1:00 pm- 2:30 pm EST. The webinar will include Michigan Food Hub Network program updates from Rich Pirog of CRFS as well as information on current/ future funding opportunities from Nancy Nyquist at MDARD.

Jessica Smith is a Purdue University Graduate with a background in Chemistry. A love for rural communities and farming encouraged Jessica to move from city to country in 1995 thus beginning her further education in rural life and food production. What started as a single farm operation grew to include an alliance of farms centered around a small USDA processing facility specializing in niche meat production and produce distribution. Her personal mission is to support the family farm by offering full scale services from processing to marketing and distribution of locally raised, healthful meat, produce, and value added food. Jessica has expertise is sustainable agriculture, business plans, farm/ energy plans, and market studies. In addition to farming and managing a food hub, she also provides consulting to help farm and food businesses achieve their goals and support rural economic development.

The presentation will be followed by Q&A and time for informal dialogue. You are invited to join remotely by logging on through the webinar url: https://connect.msu.edu/foodhub/
