Thanks folks.  I had a number of you reply directly to me including a
couple that sent me the Pulse client, and I was able to get my user
back up and running.  I'll single out John Williamson, who got to me
first, and with what he sent I was able to test things and get my user
working a lot faster than I expected.

(BTW, I know people have mentioned (and it services says) that the
Junos Pulse app can be downloaded from the mac app store, but at least
at the moment, I'm not finding it when I look there. I see it on the
itunes store for the iphone and ipad, but not the app store for the
mac.  Ironically, it's pretty easy to find the windows and mac clients
from other universities but here all I find is a bunch of references
to Engineering where they have a setup using it, but that takes
logging in with an engineering account.  Maybe as a suggestion for
those from IT Services that read this list, make it easier to find the
client for users?)

Now I'm kinda pondering whether to move my windows users over to using
it instead of network connect.  Seems pretty easy to use, and I get
enough problems with people having issues with network connect that it
might be worth considering.
