The School of Education at the College of William and Mary is doing a search for a faculty position in Science Education.  It would be great to have some geoscience candidates!

This tenure-eligible position is in the Curriculum and Instruction program area, which includes undergraduate and graduate programs in elementary and secondary education, special education, literacy leadership, mathematics leadership, English as a Second Language, and gifted education.


The incumbent will teach undergraduate and graduate students in the teacher preparation program. Courses will include secondary science instructional methods, curriculum planning, elementary science instructional methods, and supervision of the associated practicum experience. A student teaching seminar in science education may be part of the teaching load. Opportunities for working with doctoral students are available. The incumbent is expected to establish and maintain an active and productive research program and to obtain external funding.

Faculty members at the College of William and Mary School of Education maintain a two-course per academic semester teaching load. The College expects the incumbent to participate in school and institutional governance and in state and national science education organizations.
