FINAL CALL FOR PAPERS
The proposed conference will provide an exclusive forum to discuss and explore contemporary thinking of leading academic and business practices related to the economic influence of tourism and hospitality on countries of the Eastern European and Central Asian region. We are looking to publish both theoretically-grounded and practice-oriented papers in the fields of Economics, Finance, Management and Marketing. We also encourage the discussion of current trends in economic shifts in Politics, Trade, and Tourism as they relate to the recent events unfolding in the region.
All abstracts, manuscripts and proposals must be submitted online at www.ieeca.org/journal by September 1, 2014 to be considered for publication in the double-blind, peer-refereed JEECAR journal. It is assumed that revised and completed papers will be received by October 1, 2014. One copy of the printed journal will be provided free of charge to the authors attending the Vienna Conference in person. Political Impediments: Papers in this area might draw conclusions for future of politics in the Region and discuss the Western nations’ participation in the Eastern European political situation when current political climate in EU faces serious political challenges in keeping peace and insuring economic prosperity of the entire European continent.
Session 2, Part 1: Examining Trade Practices and Barriers within Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Trade Challenges: Papers should examine the possibilities of future trade opportunities and barriers given the current political situation. Scenarios could discuss different investment opportunities based on different political situations or country realignments. Papers in this area would focus on imports and exports; sales; distribution; franchising; turnkey projects; greenfield investment; acquisitions; multinational corporations; alliances
Session 2, Part 2: Business Challenges in Emerging Markets and Strategic Implications
Assessing risks and developing a risk profile: Papers in this area will focus on comprehensive and effective risk evaluation and pricing to allow investors to target a particular risk and reward with greater precision deserving efforts; relations with government, media, and society as a whole is important as the state plays a central role in economies; the reputation of the institution underpins its value and ability to operate
Session 3, Part 1: Marketing tourism to emerging markets in Eastern Europe and Central Asia
Shaping the future: Papers in this area will focus on using sales and services, designing products/services specifically for local emerging markets and offering a different value proposition for emerging market customers, employing company-owned sales or distribution markets, and conducting R&D locally; developing a clear articulation of how markets and customers are changing and how tourism and hospitality businesses can turn challenging situations into their advantages
