AIB Southeast Annual Conference Miami 2014

Call for Applications
2014 New Faculty Development Consortium
October 23, 2014

Chairs:
Mark Peterson, Florida Atlantic University
Tom Lenartowicz, Florida Atlantic University

Submission Deadline: August 20, 2014

For the first time ever, AIB-SE is pleased to offer a new faculty consortium. The New Faculty Development Consortium is targeted towards faculty who are in the early stages of their academic careers and who would like to gain insights about teaching, research, publishing and professional development from a panel of experienced and successful faculty.

The New Faculty Development workshop provides a forum for interaction for new and junior faculty with senior faculty about how to prosper in their academic career. The workshop will focus on strategies for effective teaching, research, and overall career strategies for developing your career path in academia. You will have a chance to interact with an exciting team of faculty colleagues through experiential discussions and informal conversations, and to develop your network.

We are also pleased to announce that Dr. Jim Robins will lead a special seminar on survey research. The seminar will introduce the participants into the entire process of primary data collection, including research design, survey instrument design, sampling, data collection, and data cleaning. The seminar serves as a natural lead-in to the PLS-SEM seminar offered by Dr. Joe Hair during the afternoon.

The consortium will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 8:00 am to 12:15 p.m., as part of the AIB-SE conference. Although each participant will be required to register for the 2014 AIB-SE Annual Meeting, there are no additional fees for participating in this consortium.
