TWO ASSISTANT PROFESSORSHIPS IN STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT

The Department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Strategic Management at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants should have a doctoral degree or be in the final year of their dissertation research (ABD candidates are welcome to apply). They should have the potential to build a record of excellence in both research and teaching, and their expertise and interest should be profoundly at the core of the field of Strategic Management. The department is particularly looking for scholars with expertise in one or more of the following areas: corporate strategy, competitive strategy, strategy formulation and implementation processes, contextual influences on strategy formation, resource and capability-based perspectives, corporate growth, multi-market competition, strategic organization, and family business. A secondary interest in global strategy, international business, corporate entrepreneurship, or organization theory is appreciated.
Exploratory interviews will be held at the annual meeting of the AIB in Vancouver. The initial deadline for formal applications is September 30, 2014, although applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. Applicants should send a complete package (consisting of a motivation letter, current vita, job market paper, concise research statement, teaching evaluations or statement, and three recommendation letters) to the chair of the department (Pursey Heugens; [log in to unmask]) and the departmental secretary (Carolien Heintjes; [log in to unmask]). Promising candidates will be invited to RSM for a campus visit, job talk, and interviews with faculty between November 1st and December 15th. About the department. The department ranks amongst the top departments in Europe in terms of its research productivity and impact. Faculty have recently published in such journals as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Management Science, Organization Science, and Organization Studies. The department offers its own pre-experience master programs in strategic management and in entrepreneurship and new business venturing, as well as post-experience executive programs in strategic management and in management consulting. In addition, the department contributes to the RSM's undergraduate, MBA, and EMBA programs, and to the MPhil and PhD programs of Erasmus University. The department employs many young faculty, who are increasingly involved in academic leadership roles in both North American and European scholarly associations like the AOM, EGOS, EURAM, SMS, and SAMS.
