ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF ACCOUNTING – TENURE TRACK

The University of Texas of the Permian Basin invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in Accounting to begin in spring or fall 2014. The position in the College of Business and Engineering will be filled at the Assistant/Associate Professor level with salary depending on qualifications and experience. Teaching responsibilities will include managerial, cost, and auditing accounting courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Faculty are expected to:

·         Teach 3 courses per semester, 2 semesters per year.

·         Develop new courses and curriculum as needed.

·         Collaborate in the assessment of the accounting curricula.

·         Assist in assessing student learning outcomes.

·         Have a record of research and publications/presentations.

·         Participate in College projects, events, and committee assignments. Summer Teaching opportunities are available.

Qualifications are: Doctorate in Accounting from a regionally accredited university is required but ABD’s may be considered. Ideal applicants should have a record of scholarly research and publications/presentations, excellent written and spoken English communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills. Online teaching ability is a plus. A successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check is required.
