Title: The Insect Wing: its Origin(s), Homology, and Diversification

Dr. Tomoyasu is broadly interested in using developmental biological approaches to address evolutionary questions using both beetles and flies (http://www.units.miamioh.edu/tomoyasu/lab/home.html).
His recent work (and what he will be talking about here at MSU) is on the origins of the insect wing (for more info see his recent PNAS paper). ). Dr. Tomoyasu will be in East Lansing for two days, so if you would like to meet with him please contact Jamie
