Lansing Roots Farm – Small Scale Farming Workshop Series The Greater Lansing Food Bank's Lansing Roots Farm is offering a workshop series on topics to enhance small-scale farming. Lansing Roots is designed to help limited resource or historically underserved individuals start successful market gardening and farming through an incubator farm setting. She will explain why and how to create an on-farm food safety plan as well as the best agricultural practices to verify that fruits and vegetables are produced, packed, handled, and stored in the safest manner possible. Hagadorn Rd., Mason, MI 48854 Joe Riddle, MSU Integrated Pest Management Graduate Student will discuss the theory and practice of Organic Integrated Pest Management for small-scale farm operations. Joe will lead participants on a “farm walk” where he will identify diseases and pests and ways to avoid or treat them.
