Dear Colleagues,

Could you please circulate the following information on a funded PhD studentship being advertised by Sheffield Business School, Sheffield Hallam University. The PhD is being offered in the area of International Entrepreneurship.

Sheffield Hallam University Vice Chancellor's PhD Scholarship

At the Sheffield Business School (SBS) we have a vibrant international community of research students, academics and support staff and a 30-year history of delivering high-quality postgraduate research that places a strong emphasis on close supervision and support.

We are seeking a PhD candidate for the following research area;

A contextualised approach to opportunity entrepreneurship.

The focus on opportunities has opened entrepreneurship to new and exciting research avenues. Central to the development of the opportunity concept and frameworks is the extent to which opportunities can be explored within multiple contexts. The proposed PhD research will explore the influence of different contexts on opportunity related processes, which include: opportunity recognition, exploitation and development. It is expected that the research will draw on a mixture of internationalising and non-internationalising firms at different stages of development. Ideally sample firms will be drawn from under researched communities and or countries. The use of qualitative approaches which take into consideration the current thinking on 'entrepreneurial methods' is encouraged.

For an informal discussion please contact: Dr Shingairai Masango at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>
