COORDINATOR, 
VISITING INTERNATIONAL
PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM
Michigan State University invites
applications for the position of ChinaPrograms Coordinator for the Visiting International
Professional Program (VIPP).
VIPP’s mission, as part of International Studies and Programs (ISP), is to
develop effective professionals across the career and educational continuum
through non-degree certificate programs for professional skills, language
enhancement, and cultural topics. 
 
Key Responsibilities: The ProgramCoordinatorprovides
leadership, innovation, and advocacy in developing strategies to expand non-degree
programming for practitioners and professionals from China and related areas. The
Program Coordinator will be a member of the Professional Programs Team and
report to the Director of VIPP.
 
Responsibilities: The Program Coordinator collaborates
with area study centers, international institutions, and academic and support
units campus-wide to design and implement professional programs, to expand
recruitment in the target regions, and to increase interactions with units
across campus. The Program Coordinator will also develop marketing strategies;
manage program and budget design; establish international educational exchange agreements
and contracts with institutions for short- and long-term programs; liaise with program
sponsors; identify and solicit potential external funding sources to conduct programs
including writing grant and contract proposals; provide operational and
logistical support of programs; as well as develop and nurture a network of professionals who bring practical
insights to participants through seminars and hands-on experience.
 
Qualifications: A minimum of three years of professional
experience in the U.S., or in both U.S. and China, and two years of experience
in developing and implementing international professional programs. Applicants
should demonstrate the ability to proactively plan and implement professional programs
in a complex, decentralized Research University and operate effectively as part
of the VIPP and ISP teams. The successful candidate should possess
consensus-building, problem-solving, entrepreneurial, and program-building
skills and partner effectively with faculty, administration and staff
campus-wide. A master’s degree is required; a doctoral or other terminal degree
is preferred. Professional translation skills between Mandarin and English are
expected. 
 
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with
qualifications and experience. A generous benefit package is offered.
