Graduate Assistant for Assessment and Student Success MSU Neighborhood
Engagement Centers
20 hours/week during academic year (August 15, 2014 to May 15, 2015)

We seek a Graduate Assistant for Assessment and Student Success to work
with the Engagement Center (EC) team, which is comprised of an associate
dean/director, five professional EC directors, their full-time assistants,
two research and assessment professionals, and four graduate assistants.
The Graduate Assistant for Assessment and Student Success will facilitate
assessment projects within the Neighborhood Engagement Centers; collect and
analyze qualitative and quantitative data; make public presentations; and
interact directly with undergraduate students individually and in groups as
part of an overall student success intervention strategy. As needed, the GA
will also interact directly with professional staff partners of the ECs
(e.g., Residential and Hospitality Services, academic advising, health
providers, Office of Supportive Services, Associate Provost for
Undergraduate Education).

Required skills, abilities, and attributes: Commitment to undergraduate
student success; knowledge of and experience with designing and
implementing program evaluation/assessment in educational or social service
settings; experience teaching, advising, leading, and/or mentoring diverse
undergraduate students; strong writing and presentation skills for varied
audiences (i.e., academic, professional, undergraduate); qualitative and/or
quantitative data collection and analysis; leadership, teamwork, and
self-motivation.

Desired attributes: Knowledge of undergraduate student success theories and
practice; experience working with institutional data sets.
