The GLOBE Robert J. House Research Award
The GLOBE (Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness) Project is pleased to announce the Robert J. House Research Award sponsored by The Gustavson School at the University of Victoria, Canada. The GLOBE award will honor an outstanding recent dissertation-based paper on Leadership and/or organizational behavior that used the GLOBE Database, GLOBE research tools, GLOBE leadership or GLOBE culture theory. The recipient of the award will receive a $2,500 USD cash prize and be honored at the GLOBE meeting at the 2014 Academy of Management Annual Meeting.
Criteria for submission:
The dissertation-based paper should be either single-authored or having the recipient be the leading author in a multiple authored paper. It must be based on a doctoral dissertation completed within the past three years.
The paper makes a significant contribution to the research knowledge in the field of global and cross-cultural leadership.
It thoroughly incorporates relevant theoretical and empirical literature.
The methodology and data analysis should adequately test engaging research questions.
The discussion should highlight the theoretical, empirical and practical contributions and suggest future research directions for global and cross-cultural leadership.
The paper should logically, succinctly, and clearly present ideas.
The following guidelines will be used to ensure consistent submissions by candidates
Committee members: Miriam Erez- Chair, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology; Mary Sully de Luque, Thunderbird School of Global Management, USA; Fu Ping Ping, Chinese University of Hong Kong; Ali Dastmalchian, Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, Canada.
In the absence of a paper deemed deserving of the award, the award may be withheld until the next year.
