Horticultural Careers for the Future:
Challenges and Opportunities

 
ABSTRACT:  Horticulture offers one of the most satisfying and rewarding careers, with an increasing number of people needed in the future, yet young people today are often unaware of the opportunities and diversity in this engaging field. This seminar will explore why people have a limited perception of horticulture and the new national initiative to increase awareness and improve the perception of horticulture. Ideas for changing the way people view horticulture and plant science and what we can do as students, academics and industry professionals will be discussed.
