We still have spring internship positions available starting Friday, March 14th.  Could you please share this information with your students again? I have included the information below and also attached a document if that works better for you and I made one minor change to make it more clear that the internship is either Tuesday or Friday and doesn't have to be both days.  Thank you!  Sarah

Looking for an opportunity to get outside, grow vegetables, get involved in the community, and learn about urban agriculture?  Consider an internship with the Lansing Urban Farm Project (LUFP)!

LUFP is the non-profit organization that operates Urbandale Farm.  Its mission is to produce fresh, affordable produce and to develop community-building programs, all in a sustainable way.  Find us online at:  www.lansingurbanfarmproject.wordpress.com

LUFP is offering five unpaid urban farmer internships for spring 2014. Interns will work with farm staff to plant, weed, tend, and harvest hoop house crops.  Interns will also prepare outdoor fields for a season of growing and plant early crops such as onions, cabbage, radishes, and salad mix.  Interns will help prepare for markets, build community outreach, and complete other farm tasks.

Qualified applicants will have strong communication skills, a desire to work as part of a farm team, willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and the ability to perform a diverse set of farm tasks that will include lifting and carrying heavy objects.

Internships run March 14th-April 25th on Tuesday or Friday afternoons 1pm-3:30pm.

Interested applicants may submit a cover letter and resume with contact information to Sarah at [log in to unmask] by Tuesday, March 11th.  Early applications encouraged.  Questions regarding the process?
