The Environmental Studies Program in the College of Liberal Studies at the University of
Wisconsin-La Crosse is soliciting qualified candidates for the position of Associate Lecturer.
This is a full time (100%) academic year position beginning August 25, 2014. Environmental
Studies is an interdisciplinary minor at the university, which includes courses in the humanities,
social and natural sciences. The Program takes an interdisciplinary approach to
environmental education, and our minors include students from departments across the
university. Duties of this position include teaching multiple sections of our Introduction to
Environmental Studies course and upper level topics courses in environmental studies.
Additional responsibilities include serving as a liaison to other environmental organizations and
committees at UW-L, and initiating and maintaining events and gatherings geared toward
Environmental Studies minors and prospective minors. Required Qualifications: Master's
degree (doctorate preferred) in environmental studies or a related area with appropriate
experience; commitment to quality classroom instruction (prior teaching experience preferred).
Some experience with educational outreach and working with student groups preferred.
