CALL FOR PAPERS
We would like
to invite you to submit a paper to the 13th International Conference
of the Society for Global Business & Economic Development (SGBED) at
Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona (Italy) – July 16-18, 2014. This year the conference theme is “Managing
the “Intangibles”: Business and Entrepreneurship Perspectives in a Global
Context”.
The details are described as follows or access our website at
http://www.sgbed2014.it/ for more information.
Nature and Scope of the Conference
Compared to tangible assets, “intangibles”, or knowledge-based resources, are
among the most important determinants of institutions, business
and industry performance. Recognizing their role
in promoting entrepreneurship, firm performance and
socio-economic advancement, several developed countries have recently estimated
the economic value of R&D and other forms of innovations, and have
integrated them into the measurement of GDP. At the same time, several
studies have questioned the net benefits
of globalization and the impact of
“intangibles” on the level and distribution of income
and wealth. These mixed results indicate that the role of intangibles and
knowledge resources as a source of equitable development is an open issue and
hence of significance for theoretical and empirical research. In this
framework, the 13 th Conference of the Society for Global Business and Economic
Development (SGBED) invites empirical and conceptual research with a focus on
the role of the “intangibles” in advancing equitable development in a global
business and institutional perspectives.
