I'm drawing a blank trying to recall the label for this methods fallacy:
E.g., using "international training in my company is: 1=poor ... 5=excellent" and then using these intra-company averages across employees to compare companies. (Do you have a generic label and perhaps a seminal reference considering the problem?).
